Homework 1: Circuit 1, 2, 3

Circuit 1: Blinking

I connected the LED to the 13th pin on the arduino and grounded the LED a 330 ohm resistors. The program alternates between high and low voltages for pin 13. This causes the LED to blink.

Circuit 2: Potentiometer

A potentiometer is a knob that provides a variable resistance, which we can read into the Arduino board as an analog value. Analog values range from 0 to 1023. The program takes this value and changes the speed between blinks.

Circuit 3: RGB

Using a for loop voltages are sqitched between red green and blue pins causing the LEDs to change color

Reading: A Brief Rant On The Future Of Interaction Design

The reading was so fun to read however I am skeptical about some of the arguments that Brent Victor raised. The fact that he wanted us to focus on how our hands acts with a water cup or making a sandwich defeats the purpose of his argument.  If the feel of touch is so important it (not saying it’s not but I wouldn’t argue that  my hands are the future in the beginning) he wouldn’t be telling us to notice how we interact with a book and how dull the pictures under glass are.
